Goals

The “AI for All” initiative has three main goals:

  1. Ensure that UCF students graduate with appropriate AI Fluency to succeed in the workplace.
  2. Encourage all UCF populations (faculty, staff, students) to use AI to gain productivity in their workplace processes.
  3. Encourage and enable AI-related research across disciplines.

Guiding Principles for AI Use at UCF

  1. UCF seeks to empower its students, faculty, and staff to help them explore AI relevant to their work and interests.
  2. AI fluency can bring learning and efficiency gains to UCF faculty, staff, students, and administrators. We view “AI literacy” as understanding AI, and “AI fluency” as effectively using AI.
  3. Human agency must remain at the center of any work with AI.
  4. Use of AI tools must be ethical, responsible, fair, and transparent/disclosed. AI can be used to enhance student learning; however, AI output should not replace student learning.
  5. Use of AI tools must comply with institutional policies regarding data privacy and security.
  6. AI contains difficult-to-detect bias and/or hallucinations in its outputs. It is crucial to teach students how to critically identify, understand, and mitigate these potential limitations.
  7. Because AI is now part of the technology ecosystem, it cannot be ignored. Lifelong learning about AI tools and their place in society is critical.
