HR Workshops on Workday

The “AI for All” Iniatitive provides official UCF training in the form of HR-affilitated online (synchronous) workshops that appear in your list of official training sessions on Workday. Here are the details for the workshop:

Supercharge Your Day Job with Artificial Intelligence

Many of us have tried Generative AI (GenAI) tools like ChatGPT before, but what about using it in your “day job” at UCF? Where are the areas where GenAI can make us faster, more productive, and free up time for creativity, deeper thinking, and meaningful work? We’ll briefly review what GenAI is and how it works, then address its advantages and weaknesses. We will also touch on effective prompt engineering for greater productivity.

Outcomes – participants will be able to:

  1. Explain how large language models of AI work, including their strengths and limitations
  2. Log in to the only “Safe” AI at UCF (Copilot)
  3. Apply basic prompt engineering techniques
  4. Differentiate when to use AI (and when not to)
  5. Apply AI tools to make their everyday jobs faster, easier, better
  6. Explain how “co-creating” with AI works, and which tasks are better left to humans

Here are upcoming Fall 2025 sessions:

  • September 4, 1:30-2:30
  • October 9, 2:00-3:00
  • November 6, 11:00-12:00

Custom Workshops for Faculty Groups

For faculty and departments, custom workshops can be delivered upon request (schedule permitting) on any AI-related topic. These can be of any desired length, and can be delivered in person or virtually. We are happy to visit as a part of regularly-scheduled departmental meetings, as well.

Requests can be sent to ai@ucf.edu. We are happy to record sessions upon request so that absent colleagues can also view the workshop later.

Asynchronous Webcourses Training

FCTL and CDL have developed a self-paced asynchronous training course for faculty on AI fluency. You can enroll here: https://bit.ly/GenAI-UCF-Faculty
